You will explore the impressive Plaza Mayor, surrounded by monumental colonial buildings, including the Government Palace, the Municipality of Lima, and the Cathedral—icons of the viceregal past. Next, we will visit the Convent of San Francisco, renowned for its magnificent Baroque architecture and its mysterious catacombs, which unveil lesser-known facets of ancient Lima.
As night falls, we will visit the spectacular Magic Water Circuit in the Parque de la Reserva. This show features technology, music, and color in the form of interactive, illuminated fountains that dance to traditional and modern melodies. It's the perfect opportunity to capture unforgettable photos.

Day 2: Lima - Paracas - Huacachina - Lima
We will start the day early with a transfer to the south coast. We will head to Paracas, where we will take an exciting boat ride to the Ballestas Islands, also known as the “Peruvian Galapagos.” During the trip, witness the Pacific's marine biodiversity: sea lion colonies, guano birds such as boobies, pelicans, and cormorants, and wind- and sea-shaped rock formations. Don't miss the famous Candelabra geoglyph, whose origin is still a mystery.
Then, we head to the city of Ica to explore the magical oasis of Huacachina, hidden among desert dunes. There, you can choose between riding a buggy through the huge dunes or trying sandboarding, an adrenaline-filled desert activity. You will also have time to relax and enjoy this place's unique view.
After the adventure, we will return to Lima in the afternoon. We will spend the night in Lima.
Day 3: Flight from Lima to Cusco, followed by a city tour in the afternoon
Arrival in Cusco — Tour of the Capital of the Inca Empire
In the morning, take an early flight to Cusco, the ancient capital of the Tahuantinsuyo and current jewel of the Andean world. Upon arrival at Alejandro Velasco Astete International Airport, the Machu Picchu Altitude team will be waiting to comfortably transfer you to your hotel.
After you check in, we recommend resting for a while to acclimate to the altitude (11,153 feet above sea level), which is essential for enjoying the coming days to the fullest.
In the afternoon, we will begin an exciting guided tour of the most emblematic archaeological sites in Cusco. We will start in the historic center with the impressive Cusco Cathedral, a masterpiece of colonial Baroque art. Then, we will continue to the Temple of the Sun, also known as Qoricancha. This was the most important spiritual center of the Inca Empire, and the original finely carved stone walls are still preserved.
Then, we head to the outskirts of the city to visit four archaeological sites located in the highlands.
Sacsayhuamán is a colossal ceremonial fortress with impressive cyclopean stone walls that fit together perfectly. This is a testament to the advanced engineering knowledge of the Incas.
Q'enqo is a ritual center that was probably used for religious ceremonies or mummification. It has underground passages and altars carved into the living rock.
Puka Pukara is an ancient military structure with panoramic views of the valley. It was used as a checkpoint and resting place for Inca authorities.
Tambomachay is known as the "Bath of the Inca," a sacred place where crystal-clear water flows through aqueducts and channels that showcase Inca hydraulic knowledge.
We will end the tour at sunset and return to the city. Enjoy a free night to explore the historic center or enjoy a traditional Cusco dinner.
Overnight in Cusco.
Day 4: Sacred Valley of the Incas - Take the panoramic train to Machu Picchu Pueblo
After breakfast, we will begin our fascinating journey through the agricultural, cultural, and spiritual heart of the ancient Inca Empire: the Sacred Valley of the Incas.
Our first stop is the Pisac archaeological complex, located atop a mountain. The site features agricultural terraces that blend seamlessly with the natural landscape, as well as ceremonial enclosures, dwellings, and stunning vistas of the valley. Then, we will descend to the famous artisan market of Pisac, where you can admire and purchase textiles, ceramics, jewelry, and other handcrafted items.
We will then continue our tour through the fertile valley towards Urubamba, considered the heart of the Sacred Valley. There, we will enjoy a delicious buffet lunch featuring typical Andean dishes made with fresh, local ingredients.
In the afternoon, we will head to Ollantaytambo, an impressive living Inca city whose cobblestone streets still retain their original layout. We will visit the imposing ceremonial fortress, where you will find temples, terraces, and huge blocks of stone that are perfectly assembled. You will also enjoy a spectacular panoramic view of the valley and the sacred mountains.
At the end of the tour, we will travel to the Ollantaytambo train station to board the scenic train to Machu Picchu Pueblo (Aguas Calientes). During the journey, which follows the course of the Urubamba River, you will see the landscape change from the Andes to lush jungle.
Upon arrival in Aguas Calientes, the Machu Picchu Altitudes team will welcome you and accompany you to the hotel. Enjoy a free night to rest or stroll through this cozy town surrounded by nature.
Overnight in Machu Picchu Pueblo.
Day 5: Machu Picchu, the Inca Citadel - Return to Cusco

Upon arrival, you will begin a 2.5-hour guided tour, during which you will visit the main areas of this enigmatic citadel, including:
The Temple of the Sun, with its perfect astronomical alignment;
The Intihuatana, or "solar clock," reflects the Incas' advanced astronomical knowledge.
You will also see the House of the Inca, ceremonial fountains, plazas, agricultural terraces, and astronomical observation centers.
Your guide will share the history, architecture, and Andean worldview that gave rise to this impressive legacy during the tour.
Afterwards, you will have free time to continue exploring, take photographs, or climb up to the Sun Gate (Inti Punku) or the Inca Bridge at no additional cost, depending on the schedule.
Then, we will descend by bus to Machu Picchu Pueblo for lunch (not included). Afterwards, we will board the train back to Ollantaytambo station and enjoy the landscape of river, mountains, and lush vegetation once again.
Upon arrival, private transportation will be waiting to take you back to your hotel in Cusco, where your day full of history, wonder, and connection to the Inca legacy will come to an end.
Overnight in Cusco.
Day 6: Hike to Humantay Lake - Nature at Its Finest
Prepare for one of the most impressive experiences of your trip: a full-day excursion to majestic Humantay Lake, a natural treasure nestled in the Peruvian Andes.
We will depart from Cusco early in the morning and head to Mollepata, where we will enjoy an energizing breakfast before continuing by vehicle to Soraypampa (approximately 3,900 meters above sea level), the starting point of our hike.

Day 7: Chinchero, Maras, and Moray Tour: Living Heritage of the Andes
Today, you will explore some of the most fascinating cultural and natural treasures of the Sacred Valley. Our journey begins with a visit to Chinchero, a picturesque Andean village that has preserved its ancestral traditions. There, we will visit a traditional textile center where local women will demonstrate the spinning, dyeing, and weaving processes they have inherited from the Incas. We will also tour the colonial church, which was built on Inca walls, and enjoy a spectacular view of the valley.
Next, we will visit the Moray archaeological complex, an amazing set of terraced circular structures that the Incas used as a laboratory to experiment with crops at different altitudes and microclimates. The site's ingenious design and deep connection to the earth reflect the advanced agricultural knowledge of the Tahuantinsuyo civilization.
Next, we will visit the impressive Maras Salt Mines, which consist of over 3,000 salt pools located on the slopes of a mountain. Fed by an underground saltwater spring, these pools have been exploited since pre-Inca times and are still operated by local communities. The white landscape they create in the sun is unique and absolutely photogenic.
Throughout the tour, you will be surrounded by majestic Andean landscapes, including mountains, farmlands, rural communities, and clear skies.

Today, you will have one of the most spectacular experiences of the trip when you hike to the famous Mountain of Colors (Vinicunca). This natural wonder has become an icon of Peru because of its unique beauty and geological significance.
We will leave Cusco very early (around 4:00 a.m.) and head to the Cusipata community, where we will enjoy an Andean breakfast. Then, we will continue by vehicle to Phulawasipata (15,092 feet above sea level), the starting point of the hike.
The hike takes approximately one and a half hours, crossing open pampas, small herding communities, and herds of alpacas, all framed by the imposing, snow-capped peaks of the Andes. The ascent is gradual, and although the hike is of moderate difficulty, we will reach an altitude of 5,200 meters (17,060 feet) above sea level, so it is advisable to be well acclimatized.
Upon reaching the main viewpoint, you will witness an incomparable natural spectacle: Vinicunca, the Rainbow Mountain, reveals its naturally occurring color stripes formed by minerals such as iron, sulfur, and copper. From this point, you can also admire the snow-capped Ausangate, the highest mountain in Cusco, which is considered sacred in the Andean worldview.
After enjoying the landscape, taking pictures, and connecting with this unique environment for a while, we will begin the descent and return to Cusipata by transport for a comforting lunch. In the afternoon, we will return to Cusco.

This full-day tour allows you to explore two of its most iconic islands: Uros and Taquile.
Early in the morning, we will head to the port of Puno to board a tourist boat with a guide. Our first stop will be the amazing Floating Islands of the Uros, a group of artificial islands built entirely from totora, an aquatic plant found in the lake. The inhabitants will warmly welcome us and share their ancestral way of life, including their construction, navigation, and fishing techniques, which have been passed down from generation to generation.
After this unique cultural experience, we will sail for about an hour and a half until we reach Taquile Island.
